At 4 o’clock in the morning an employee of egypte4allreizen will pick you up at the hotel and you will receive a breakfast package from the hotel.

We drive to Edfu.

Here we will visit the temple of the god Horus, it is the youngest and best preserved temple in Egypt.

Then we drive to Aswan where we will visit the temple of the goddess Isis on the island of Philea.

Isis

is the mother of Horus. And Horus is brought into this temple as the young Horus. While in the temple of Edfu Horus is a grown man.

To get to this temple, take a boat across. The island is not the real island but the island of Agilika, as the real island of Philea has now completely disappeared under the water, this is due to the construction of both dams. But Philea was already in serious trouble during the construction of the old dam.

Finally, visit the granite quarries of Aswan. Here lies the largest obelisk ever made on behalf of Queen Hatshepsut and it was intended for the Karnak temple. But unfortunately this obelisk was torn at the last minute and could therefore not be removed from the quarry.

The entire excursion day will be accompanied by employees of Egypt4allreizen (Dutch, Italian, or English-speaking guides).
