The temples of Karnaken Luxor

are two of the most important ancient Egyptian sites in Luxor, Egypt.

Karnak Temple is a huge ancient temple complex that was built over a period of more than 1,000 years, from the Middle Kingdom to the Ptolemaic period.

The Great Hypostyle Hall is one of the most impressive features of the complex, with 134 massive columns,
some of which are more than 22 meters high. The complex was dedicated to the god Amon, but also contains temples dedicated to other gods such as Mut and Montu. Visitors can explore the complex and view the various temples, chapels and other buildings, as well as the impressive carvings and hieroglyphs.

Luxor Temple

is an ancient temple complex located on the eastern bank of the Nile River in Luxor, Egypt. It was built over a period of several centuries, from the 14th century BC to Roman times. The temple was dedicated to the god Amon, but was also used for other religious and political purposes,

Balloon flights

are a popular activity in Luxor and offer a unique perspective of the temples and surrounding area. During the ride, visitors can see the temples of Karnak and Luxor from above, as well as the Valley of the Kings and other ancient sites. The ride usually takes place early in the morning, when temperatures are cooler and light is better for photography. Visitors can book hot air balloon rides through various tour companies in Luxor.

At 4 o’clock in the morning an employee of egypte4allreizen will pick you up at the hotel and we will drive to Luxor via Safaga and Qina. You will receive a breakfast package from the hotel. When we are on our way we take a break at the cafeteria.

Tour Plan

Day 1 The first day in Luxor

We are going to visit the largest temples in Egypt, the temples of Karnak. The temples are dedicated to the great state god Amun and his wife Mut and their son Chonsu, the triad of Thebes, after which we will have lunch.

After lunch we will take you to your hotel. And after you have rested a bit, we will take a tour of Luxor by carriage. Then we go to the Luxor Temple to enjoy the beautiful illuminated temple. After visiting the temple we go to a restaurant where we taste Egyptian dishes. We will then take you back to the hotel.

Day 2 The second day

Early in the morning we go ballooning and enjoy the beautiful view over the Nile Valley. After the balloon flight we visit the temple of Medinet Habu and then we drive to the Valley of the Kings. We visit 3 graves on 1 ticket.

Additional tickets must be purchased for the tombs of Ramses VI, Tutankhamun and Seti I, but please confirm this with your guide before you leave the bus.

After visiting the Valley of the Kings we drive to the enormous Memnon colossi that used to stand in front of the temple of King Amenhotep III.

After this we return to Marsa-Alam and take you to your hotel.

The entire excursion day will be accompanied by employees of Egypt4allreizen (Dutch, Italian, or English-speaking guides).
